1920 London – Movie Review, Plot, Audience feedback
1920 London is the third in franchise of 1920, from Bhatt camp
The third in the Bhatt series after 1920 and 1920: The Evil Returns, 1920 London is back after being in the pipeline for the last two years to scare the audiences and make them cringe with horror. The movie has hit the theaters with the first-day collection of average profit of Rs.2.56 crores* with Sharman Joshi as a lead along with Meera Chopra and Vishal Karwal. Trailer was pretty good.
The story of a movie is about a happily married Royal couple of Rajasthan who is living in London. The horror strikes when the wife opens up a locket which was a present to her and evil spirits find their way to her husband’s life ruining them and their perfect marriage. At this point, she goes back to Rajasthan to find an exorcist who is obviously her ex-lover Jai, Sharman Joshi.
The horror in the movie is not scary enough for the audience to bite their nails so much so that it is disappointing and doesn’t make you scared at all as the previous movie installments.
The performances by Meera Chopra and Vishal Karwal are not at all appealing and are not able to grab people attention. The only person able to save the dragging plot is Sharman. Even though this is his way of experimenting with a new genre, he fails to leave a lasting impressive impression.
The audience does not seem to be too happy with the movie because it makes them smile and laugh instead of scared. The evil spirits of messed up hair and popped up eyes fail to create a horror and the screenplay seem to be loosely hanging.
Good things about movie
The good thing about the movie is its music which showcased great soothing numbers which seem to entice the audience. After a long time, a horror movie tries to fill up the hungry souls who love some thrillers. The buzz and the anticipation from previous parts surely helped in making people getting to the theater.
Bad things about movie
The bad thing about of movie is its screenplay and acting. The movie has nothing unique to offer and it seemed like a repetitive plot as the previous versions. It fails miserably to connect with the audience.
Our verdict is to watch the movie if you are truly bored and have nothing else to do this weekend. A little second-rate horror and a little thriller and suspense in 1st half might give you something to enjoy. Our rating is 2 out of 5.
