It is always big news when the sequels of two top grossing movies are rumored to be released on the same date. Especially so when the two movies have set some amazing precedents at the box office when initially released.

When Baahubali and Robot set the screen on fire by some amazing graphics and brilliant cinematography, it was a foregone conclusion for the eager fans and the film industry that its sequels will surely follow. As expected the sequels to these blockbusters were announced and there was buzz around the release dates almost instantly.

According to Rana Daggubati, “Baahubali: The Conclusion” will go ahead with 14 April 2017 release date.

The storylines of both the sequels are different, as Robot is a science fiction thriller and Baahubali is an epic historical drama. Yet the anticipation of them releasing on the same date is indeed a mouth-watering prospect for the entire film industry. There is too much at stake for both these films and production houses of both Baahubali 2 and Robot 2 would definitely not want their earnings to be eroded due to each other.

Baahubali 2

Made with a budget of Rs 120 crore, Baahubali was released around the same time last year and had an interesting storyline to back its amazing graphics and exciting action sequences.

It showcased the travails of Shiva (Prabhas) who has immense power and strength and is a man with a mission. The movie also featured Rana Dagubatti, Tamannah& Anushka Shetty in leading roles.

The character of Katappa was an important one and was played by veteran actor, Sathyaraj. Director Rajamouli was highly appreciated for attempting to bring alive the legend of Baahubali on screen in an effective manner.

Robot 2

In the meanwhile, Robot (Enthiran) hit worldwide screens in 2010 and was considered to be a landmark movie for its extensive use of top-class graphics.

The fact that it starred mega superstar Rajnikanth in a stunning double role was a virtual feast for Rajni fans all over the world. The movie created a sensation as it was filled with some amazing action scenes and great computer graphics which were lapped up by audiences all over. It was also released in Hindi and Telugu to cater to a larger audience.

The movie told the story of a scientist who creates a robot who is able to understand, display and react to human emotions and how he falls into wrong hands and creates havoc.

Akshay Kumar will be seen in the shoes of the villain in Robot 2.0.

Baahubali: The Conclusion and Robot 2.0 will avoid clash in release dates

Baahubali’s sequel has been named as Baahubali: The Conclusion and this much-anticipated movie is scheduled to be released on 14th April 2017. This date is a much-wanted and auspicious date as the Tamil New Year falls on this day. The makers of Robot 2 were considering this date too but two big-budget movies releasing on the same date will create box-office mayhem. This possibility now seems bleak as Robot has much of shooting & post-production work left while Baahubali is racing towards its completion.

Why did Katappa kill Baahubali?

To this, the only logical answer is:

Sivagami ( Ramya Krishnan) would have ordered kattappa to kill bahubali. Such was Kattappa’s character that he wouldn’t have done this on his own. He was loyal to the kingdom.

The fans expect the abrupt ending of Baahubali, where Katappa kills Baahubali, will be explained in the second part while Robot will be re-instated once again and entertain us with his amazing skills in the sequel.
