Dhanak Movie Details
There were quite a few expectations from this movie considering Kukunoor was returning to the screen after a couple of years. An endearing lead couple and an engaging narration are the strong points of Dhanak and is expected to work its magic on the audience. The movie was released in India across 1000 screens. Dhanak has garnered a host of awards at international film festivals and hasn’t been released abroad yet.
Kukunoor was lucky enough to land this talented child artist, Hetal Gadda who plays Pari, and she carries the entire movie on her demure shoulders, quite comfortably with able support from Krish Chhabria as Chhotu. The supporting cast is a capable one too but does not find much to do in the movie except fill in a few noticeable gaps.
Nagesh Kukunoor’s movies have created equally beautiful music too and Dhanak follows a similar tradition too. The soundtrack is definitely superior to the regular Bollywood fare one gets to hear and creates a nice impact on the listener. Tapas Relia has done a fabulous job of music that suits the mood of the movie. Tracks like Chal Chalein, Jeene se bhi, Dhanak (title song) are easy on the ear but the highlight would be a new-age rendition of Mast Kalandar, that remains with you for long after you have moved out of the movie hall.
