Housefull 3 Movie Review – No brainer, but entertaining

Housefull 3, the third installment of the Housefull franchisee movie, released today on June 3, 2016. The only thing I need to say about this movie is that it is no different than the earlier Housefull movies. The best thing about Housefull 3 is you can watch it without using your grey cells. The no brainer jokes are a welcome break from a tiresome hectic schedule. So your mind can rest well for it for two hours.

Actor Boman Irani again plays the role of a Gujju businessman named Batuk Patel who has an empire in London. He is blessed with three sexy yet sanskari daughters named Ganga, Jamuna, and Saraswati. The roles are played by Jacqueline Fernandez, Lisa Haydon, and Nargis Fakhri respectively.

Housefull 3 – A word on the female star cast and their roles

These ladies are just playing dumb. It is evident that they are not well versed in the Hindi language. Do you guys remember Ajay Devgan’s character is Bol Bachchan, a man who translates Hindi Idioms in a funnily dumb way to English? These three ladies are doing the same but as they are living in London, so there is a role reversal.

Housefull 3 – Plot Synopsis / Story

These ladies are in love with guys named Sandy, Bunty, and Teddy. Akshay Kumar is Sandy, Abhishek Bachchan is Bunty, and Riteish Deshmukh is Teddy. Now Ganga, Jamuna Saraswati want to marry Sandy, Bunty and Teddy but Daddy Dearest, Batuk Patel, doesn’t want his daughters to get married to anyone. So to convince him the three gentlemen act as handicapped. Frankly I found it quite sad that the movie had to get a few laughs at the expense of handicap. Is there no line to be drawn?

Sandy (Akshay) is an aspiring footballer, who turns Sundy when he faces racist remarks from his coach and now he has split personality problem.

Teddy with the loose tongue

If we talk about Teddy, he has a slip of the tongue disorder so he gets liberty to call wife as tawaif and that is again a bad joke!

Bunty is a rapper

Bunty is a rapper in the movie.

Housefull 3 – Cast and crew

The movie is written and directed by duo Sajid-Farhad. It seems that they were so busy in writing those silly jokes and dialogues that they forgot to write a story for the movie. So the only advice to the audience is that don’t look for a plot in the movie.

Like dialogues, songs of the movie are in poor taste. The ‘taang Uthake‘ song seems dedicated to dogs whereas the other song ‘love ki ma ki‘ seems very cheesy.

Housefull 3 – What to watch out for

So this movie has no good story, no good songs but the only good thing it has is big star cast and some of the best actors such as Akshay, Johnny Lever and Boman Irani who have done justice to their roles. Jackie Shroff and Chunkey Pandey played the roles given to them as stupidly as the director wanted them to play.

So all in all, we give only two stars to this movie. Go and watch this movie only if you like no-brainer comedy movie.
