Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, Junooniyat, a romantic Bollywood drama, released on 24th June 2016. This movie was produced by Bhushan Kumar. After Sanam Re movie, it is the second movie in which Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam are paired opposite to each other. Like Sanam Re, this movie also gets negative response at its opening day.
Junooniyat Review – Story
The movie was shot simultaneous with Sanam Re and it seems that it brings the same bad luck with it. Junooniyat is mainly shot in Amritsar, Shimla, Kashmir and Patiala. Neither the story nor the performances of the actors look convincing in it. There was nothing new in the story. It is the love story of an army captain, Jahaan Bakshi and an Amritsari college girl, Suhani Kapoor. They meet and fall in love but because Suhaani’s parents do not accept this relation, they decide to part their ways. But later realize that they can’t live without each other and then some drama of misunderstanding and later a happy ending. Same old story with few changes and two not so successful leads. This is what Junooniyat is all about.
Junooniyat Review – Performances
The performances of Yami Gautam and Pulkit Samrat is not implausible but the same old story and typical dialogues make the movie unworthy to watch in theaters. It will be a waste of time and money to watch this movie in the theater. You better wait for few days to watch it on television. Though the Yami Gautam and Pulkit Samrat looks good together but this pair till now has not able to make a good impression with the audience. The music of the movie is composed by Ankit Tiwari, Jeet Ganguly, and Meet bros. Even the music by these talented music composers can’t help the movie.
Junooniyat Review – Audience Speak
According to movie critics, Junooniyat is a just compilation of scenes and images with which cannot be called a movie. Just good location and frames can’t help the movie. A good convincing story is a must for the success of a movie which is lacking in it. So the critics have no expectation from the movie.
The movie Raman Raghav 2.0 is a much better choice over Junooniyat for this weekend entertainment. We can only give one and a half start to Junooniyat which failed to show that obsession and love on the screen.
So rather than spoiling your weekend with Junooniyat, it will be much better to stay at home and relax.
