The movie is based on the ancient city of Mohenjo-Daro and will depict the time of Indus Valley civilization which dates back to 2600 BC. This movie is centered on the culture and ancient civilization of Mohnejo Daro. The film is shot in Bhuj and Mumbai. The soundtrack is composed by A. R Rahman and the lyrics are written by Javed Akhtar. The film is produced under the banner of UTV motion picture.

Mohnejo Daro is the story of a young man named Sarman who is an orphan. This role is played by Hrithik Roshan. He meets a girl named Chaani, a role played by Pooja Hegde, and falls in love with her. But he later finds out that the girl’s father is responsible for destroying his family. Then this love story turns into a revenge drama. The story is based on the culture of the Indus Valley Civilization. The plot revolves around the discovery of Mohenjo Daro and the culture and vibe of the ancient civilization, but the center of attraction is the love story.
The principal photography started in the year of 2015 in the Month of January in Bhuj. The first shooting schedule was wrapped up in 101 days in the month of May and then Hrithik started some kind of special training for the film. The shooting again started in Bhuj in October 2015. The second schedule was filmed in Jabalpur and ended in 2015. The third schedule was shot in the Film city Mumbai while the climax was shot in Thane.
Ayananka Bose was first signed to carry out the cinematography for the movie. But since he could not reach the sets on time Ashutosh replaced him with C .K Muralidharan.
The first look of the Hrithik and Pooja has already been released by the filmmakers. The filmmakers have already sold music and satellite right in Rs. 60 Cr before the movie release. So makers have great expectation from the movie.
