Udta Punjab is one of the most awaited thriller movies of the year. Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, it is co-produced under Balaji Motion Pictures and Phantom Films. The music is composed by Amit Trivedi. It is based on the drug mafia and drug problems in Punjab.

If I have to explain the trailer in one word, It would be ‘ dynamic.’ The trailer shows some very loud scenes where you will see actors using very rough language.

Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Diljit Dosanjh and Alia Bhatt are the main leads of the movie. All the four are playing very interesting and different characters. After the release of first looks of all the leads, makers released the official trailer of the movie on 16 April 2016.
The trailer starts with a dialogue “Sattar (70) percent of Punjab youth is in drug addict. If this is not stopped, Punjab will soon become like Mexico. (sic)” which directly points out the decaying condition of youth under the influence of deadly drugs in Punjab and on the subject of the movie. From the trailer, you will get a clear idea of Shahid role. He is Punjabi rockstar who is a drug addict. You will see him taking drugs and wildly performing on stage. Later in the scene, he was arrested by cops. One of the funny scene in the trailer is when Tommy Singh introduce himself to Kumari Pinky(Alia Bhatt).
Alia Bhatt’s role is very de-glamorous. You will see her delivering the dialogues in Bihari dialect. I feel, her role in the movie is very powerful. I won’t be surprises if she gets a lot of praise for this role. Diljit and Kareena will be seen fighting against drug mafia.
The trailer is very noisy and loud. Though the subject of the movie is very serious but the film is directed in a very lively way. It will blow off your mind. After watching this trailer, it will become difficult for the audience to wait for it anymore. The movie looks very interesting. This trailer has raised the expectation of the audience.
This movie covers the story of four people- Tommy Singh, Kumari Pinky, Preet Sahani and Sartaj Singh Dhillon. All the four character are from different background having only two things common in between, one is Punjab and second is drugs. It has got more than one lakh views in just 3 hours after release.

You will get to see some very good performances but no doubt, the expectations for Alia and Shahid are more as both of them get a really unique role to play. The movie is an attempt to shed light on the condition of Punjabi youth. The movie is all set to hit the screens on 17 June 2016. I hope this movie deliver a good message to Punjabi Youths.
