The Rajasthan Subordinate & Ministerial Services Selection Board (RSMSSB) every year releases notification for different vacancies in radiography and lab technicians. Thousands of aspirants apply for the same, but only a few get the job and work. One of the promising jobs falling under the RSMSSB is radiography.
Like other RSMSSB salary offered, the radiographer is also offered a promising salary and good career growth carrying experience and work skills. Radiology technicians, technologists and sonographers fall under the job scope of the radiographer. Radiographers work with the paramedical department and work under pressure carrying good knowledge.

Duties of Radiographer
Assistant Radiographer working in RSMSSB is responsible for preparing and safely positioning patients to get the accurate x-ray images. The radiographer would be assisting radiologist with advanced preparation and testing of patients. They are also responsible for maintaining patient records regularly. Furthermore, the radiographer is also responsible for preparing and testing the administrative task, including the work schedule and maintaining patient records. The individual will also perform mammography, computed tomography and other work.
The assistant radiographer will either work in a government hospital of the specific state or with the private hospital. The initial salary of the radiographer is Rs 18000/- pm with other benefits. Later with the increase in the experience, the candidate will get a pay raise and position raise too.
Aspirant wanting to work as the radiographer should be 10+2 passed out or should have done the radiographer course. An aspirant should also be registered in Rajasthan Paramedical Council.
Furthermore, the radiographer should carry the licences and certification from the reputed institute, which should be recognised by the Rajasthan Government. You can continue with your education that will help in getting a better position with the increased experience.
The Role of a Lab Technician
Along with the radiographer, the RSMSSB also seeks applicants to fill the vacancies of the lab technician. The job of the lab technician is broad and is responsible for setting up the lab, maintain the record data and conclude the result. The central part of the job role is to collect samples, operate machines and other work processes along with the senior lab technician.
To work as a lab technician, you need to hold the degree from the science field. Subject streams include chemistry, biology, or physics. The aspirant needs to undergo the entrance test similar to the sonographer conducted by the Rajasthan medical board.
Some of the key required skills of lab technicians are-

- Ability to use the computer and create a sample report.
There are different roles of lab technicians which includes-
- CT Scan Technician
The CT scan technician uses a Computerised Tomography scanner to produce cross-sectional images.
- MRI Technician
MRI Technicians is responsible for running an MRI scanner at the lab or hospital. The technician will be working with either the patient or the medical expert to gather report and check the sample.
- X-Ray Technicians
X-Ray technician work on the imaging methods with the use of technology to visualise the inner body of the human. The aspirant should be able to use the machine and create a report for the result.
