uTorrent is a firm favorite when it comes to BitTorrent clients, making its money through in-app ads and bundled software offered during installation. But it seems that this software may be causing some problems for uTorrent, which is now being flagged as ‘harmful’.

After downloading uTorrent norton glaged it as a security risk. Scans identify uTorrent.exe as being associated with Suspicious.Cloud.9. Google’s Chrome browser is also flagging uTorrent as potentially harmful, and is blocking users’ attempts to download it, although it seems that not all users are being affected by this specific prevention method.

There are no indications that the uTorrent application itself is malicious – instead, it seems that the ‘harmful software warnings’ are being triggered by the third-party software bundled with the app.
