How Does This GTA 6 Countdown Work?

The GTA 6 countdown above counts down to 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2026, using your device’s clock and time zone. In other words, a player in Chicago and a player in Los Angeles each see the time left until midnight where they live.

Below the main timer, the tool also tracks the other official milestones. First comes Take-Two’s earnings call on November 9, then pre-load on November 12, then launch, and finally the Vintage Vice City Pack cut-off. Why this GTA 6 countdown uses midnight in your time zone

Rockstar has published the launch date but not a launch hour. Its June pre-order post mentioned “midnight local time” only for the start of pre-orders, not for the game itself. Therefore, the most honest target is the start of November 19 where you are. If Rockstar, PlayStation or Xbox posts an official unlock time, we will update the timer and the table below.

Why the November 9 earnings call matters

According to Take-Two’s investor relations page, the company reports second-quarter fiscal 2027 results on Monday, November 9, with a conference call at 9:30 p.m. UTC, which is 4:30 p.m. ET. Because it is the last scheduled earnings call before launch, it is the next official moment to listen for any comment on the date. Even so, only Rockstar can change the date, and the launch date has not moved since November 2025.

What else is new this week?

On October 29, Rockstar announced that the original score by Justice arrives on December 11 on streaming services, CD and vinyl. Separately, Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, a 34-track soundtrack, still lands on November 19 alongside the game, according to the album announcement.

How Do You Pre-Load GTA 6 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S?

You can pre-load GTA 6 from November 12, 2026, once you own a digital copy or have redeemed the code from a boxed copy. Pre-loading means downloading the game before launch, so it is ready to play the moment it unlocks.

Rockstar’s pre-order announcement says digital buyers “will be able to begin pre-loading on November 12 to ensure they are able to play at launch on November 19.” Notably, the physical version also goes on sale November 12, and the box holds a download code rather than a game disc. In practice, every copy needs a full download.

Pre-load GTA 6 on PS5

• Step 1: Buy or pre-order the Standard or Ultimate Edition on the PlayStation Store, which lists a 7-day pre-load for both editions.
• Step 2: Free up space on your internal SSD or an M.2 expansion drive before November 12.
• Step 3: Turn on automatic downloads and keep your PS5 connected to the internet in Rest Mode.
• Step 4: On November 12, open your game library and start the download manually if it has not begun.

Pre-load GTA 6 on Xbox Series X|S

• Step 1: Buy or pre-order GTA 6 from the Xbox store, or redeem the code from a boxed copy on or after November 12.
• Step 2: Clear space on the internal drive or a supported expansion card.
• Step 3: Leave the console connected so updates and downloads can run while it sleeps.
• Step 4: Check the download queue on November 12 and start the install if it has not begun.

GTA 6 Editions and Prices: What Is Official

GTA 6 costs $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition on both the US PlayStation Store and Xbox store. In addition, Xbox lists a $20.00 Ultimate Edition Upgrade for Standard owners.

According to the PlayStation Store, the free GTA+ month must be claimed by March 31, and it continues into a paid subscription unless you cancel in your account’s subscription settings. Also, the PS5 version is labeled PS5 Pro Enhanced, and the game will not be available on PlayStation 4.

Is GTA 6 Coming to PC on November 19?

No. Rockstar has announced GTA 6 only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and no official page lists a PC version or a PC date as of October 30, 2026.
