Meanwhile, the early holiday sales have already started in 2026. Walmart Deals ran October 5–11, while Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days and Target Circle Deal Days both ran October 6–7, according to NBC News Select. Since then, Lowe’s, Target, Costco and Walmart have published Black Friday dates, and the remaining stores could follow within a few weeks.
Shoppers are moving early, too. According to the NRF’s October 20 holiday survey, 43% of consumers planned to start holiday shopping before November, although 64% expect to wait until Thanksgiving weekend for most of their purchases. The National Retail Federation, the largest US retail trade group, also forecasts that November–December retail sales will grow 4.2% to $1.013 trillion. When Do Black Friday Ads Come Out?
Most Black Friday ads come out between late October and mid-November, but the first Black Friday ads 2026 arrived earlier. Lowe’s announced its plan on October 8, Target followed on October 21, Costco’s Black Friday pages were live by October 24, Walmart announced its three events on October 26, and Best Buy revealed its holiday calendar on October 27. In 2025, for example, Best Buy shared its calendar on October 20, Walmart announced its events on October 27, and Kohl’s and Macy’s followed in the first week of November. So if past timing holds, Kohl’s and Macy’s could follow in early November.

When do Black Friday ads leak?
Black Friday ads often leak a few days to a week before a store makes them official, usually when deal-tracking sites post scans of the circular. For instance, 9to5Toys published Costco’s full 2025 ad on October 25, and it posted Home Depot’s ad on November 5, before Home Depot had settled its final dates. Leaked prices usually hold, but store terms can still change before launch.
Where to find Black Friday ads 2026 first
The most reliable place is the retailer itself: its newsroom, its app and its Black Friday landing page. Next, sign up for each store’s email list or free loyalty program, because members often get the ad and the early-access window first. Finally, deal sites publish leaked scans quickly, but treat them as previews until the store confirms.

Walmart Black Friday 2026: What We Know So Far
Walmart, the largest US retailer, announced its Black Friday 2026 events on October 26, 2026: Early Black Friday Deals from November 12 to 15, Black Friday Deals from November 23 to 29 and Cyber Monday Deals from November 30 to December 2, according to Walmart’s announcement. Its October 7 holiday announcement also confirmed that stores will close on Thanksgiving and Christmas again this year. That makes Walmart the fourth store in this guide with Black Friday ads 2026 dates. In 2025, it announced a similar three-event lineup on October 27.

When does Walmart Black Friday start in 2026?
Walmart Black Friday starts November 12, 2026, when Early Black Friday Deals go live online at 12:01 a.m. ET and in stores at 6 a.m. local time. Walmart+ members get early access to some deals for the first 24 hours of each Black Friday event. That is two days earlier than last year, when its first Black Friday event began November 14, according to Walmart’s 2025 announcement.

Amazon, the online marketplace, hasn’t announced Black Friday 2026 dates as of October 29, 2026. Even so, its 2025 pattern was clear: a 12-day Black Friday Week that opened well before the holiday and ran through Cyber Monday.

When does Amazon Black Friday start?
In 2025, Amazon Black Friday started on November 20 at 12:01 a.m. PT and ran through December 1, according to Amazon’s own Black Friday page. For 2026, Amazon has not confirmed dates. Amazon announced its 2025 dates on November 9 in a US press release, so watch for a 2026 announcement in early November.

Amazon has no physical Black Friday doorbusters, so the timing question is simply when the online deals go live.

Target Black Friday 2026 Dates and Ad
Target, the discount department store chain, announced its first Black Friday 2026 dates on October 21: Early Black Friday deals run November 5–7, and a new Deal of the Day starts November 1 and runs every day through December 24, according to Target’s holiday press release. However, Target has not yet announced its Black Friday-day or Cyber Monday events.

When will Target release its Black Friday ad?
Target has already released its early Black Friday ads 2026 dates, about nine days sooner than its October 30 overview in 2025. Based on last year, the full Black Friday week details will likely come closer to the holiday. Last year, the official release came on November 20 for an event that ran November 23–29, according to Target’s press release.

Its Black Friday Doorbusters & Deals event starts November 19 and runs 10 days, through November 28, according to Best Buy’s announcement. Before that, DoorBOOsters start October 30 and Early Black Friday Deals & Doorbusters start November 6. That follows its September 14 holiday preview, which said only that savings start in October. Last year, it published its calendar a week earlier, on October 20, 2025.

What time does Best Buy open on Black Friday?
On Black Friday 2025, Best Buy stores opened at 6 a.m. and closed at 10 p.m., according to TODAY’s 2025 store-hours list. Stores closed on Thanksgiving Day, although BestBuy.com stayed open. For 2026, Best Buy has confirmed stores will close again on Thanksgiving, November 26, with deals in the Best Buy app and on BestBuy.com, and extended store hours start November 1. However, it has not published a Black Friday opening time, so check your local store page the week before.

Yes, Costco has Black Friday deals, and its 2026 Black Friday promotions are already live on Costco.com. Costco, the membership warehouse club, also confirmed that warehouses will close on Thursday, November 26, 2026, for Thanksgiving. As in 2025, the sale runs for about a month in waves.

Sam’s Club, Walmart’s membership warehouse club, has not announced Black Friday 2026 event dates or Thanksgiving hours as of October 29, 2026. So far, it has announced a Member’s Mark Thanksgiving Meal instead.

Lowe’s is the only one of these four with confirmed 2026 Black Friday dates. Home Depot has announced holiday gift savings from October 29 and its holiday store hours but no Black Friday event, while Kohl’s and Macy’s have not announced 2026 sale dates. All four closed on Thanksgiving 2025, and Lowe’s, Kohl’s and Home Depot have confirmed they will close again on November 26, 2026.

Macy’s, the department store best known for its Thanksgiving parade, ran the longest calendar of the group in 2025.

Most big-box stores opened at 5 or 6 a.m. on Black Friday 2025, after closing on Thanksgiving Day. For 2026, Walmart, Costco, Lowe’s, Kohl’s and Home Depot have confirmed they will close on Thanksgiving, November 26. Only Walmart and Home Depot have posted Black Friday opening times so far, both 6 a.m., so the table also shows last year’s hours as a planning guide.
