Hanukkah, the eight-night Jewish Festival of Lights, begins at sundown on Friday, December 4, 2026, when families light the first candle. According to Hebcal’s Jewish holiday calendar, the eighth candle is lit on Friday, December 11, and the festival ends on Saturday, December 12. Because Hanukkah follows the Hebrew calendar, its dates move each year; in 2027, for instance, it begins on the evening of December 24.
