Lisa Haydon: A Beautiful Person Inside Out
Born as Elisabeth Marie Haydon on the 17th of June 1986 in Chennai, to parents Venkat, a Malayali Indian & Anna, an Australian, Lisa is as impulsive and emotional as her character, Vijayalakshmi, in the hit Hindi movie ‘Queen’. As a person, Lisa likes to live life on her own terms and is keen to retain her individuality in the fickle and topsy-turvy world of cinema.
Early Life
Lisa was barely six months old when her parents decided to move to Australia from Chennai where they live till she was two. Her family lived in India for the next 10 years at a stretch before moving back to Australia. Finally, in 2007, they settled in India for good when Lisa was 21. It was a chance meeting with Anil Kapoor that landed Lisa her first role in the movie” Aisha” starring Sonam Kapoor. Lisa was at a five-star coffee shop when Anil Kapoor, the producer of her first movie, noticed her and paid her compliments for her looks. A year later, Lisa was offered the role of AartiMenon who played A US-returned corporate type in the film. A three-month stint in method acting was followed by diction classes in Mumbai and Lisa began shooting for her first film.
Lisa Haydon’s Entry In Bollywood
Movies, of course, happened much later in her life, since she began getting modelling assignments at a pretty early age. She was already blazing the fashion ramp in 2007 and went on to becoming a much-sought-after supermodel for many prestigious assignments before getting selected for movies. As a child, Lisa wanted to become a dancer and by the time she becomes 18, becoming a yoga instructor was her dream. However, in her quest to earn money to fund her education, she turned towards modelling and that was the beginning of a successful career.
Success With “Queen”
However, it was director Vikas Bahl’s surprise hit ‘Queen’ that bought Lisa much-deserved fame and recognition. Her character as Vijayalakshmi was a central character alongside Kangana’s Rani as she is instrumental in giving Kangana the confidence and self-assurance to live her life. Lisa gave an amazing grace and humaneness to a difficult character and garnered a lot of praise from her fans and critics as well.
Personal Life
On the personal front too, Lisa has had her share of heartbreaks and experiences that taught her to move ahead in life without dwelling too much in the past. During her stay in Australia, Lisa was barely 20 when she committed herself to a live-in relationship which ended badly. Being jobless and without a home, Lisa was forced to wait tables at the beach front when modelling happened and her life took a turn for good. Lisa was in a relationship with DJ Karan Bhojwani for a year and even got engaged to her before they broke up with each other.

Lisa has many movie assignments to her credit now. The heart-warming Queen was followed up by The Shaukeens and Housefull 3 and Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Milan Luthria’s Baadshaho are her next movie slated for a year-end release.
