Mother’s day was actually a part of Roman and Greek celebrations where the people use to honor Rhea, the wife of Cronus who was actually the mother of all the deities. Besides, this Christians also celebrated the Mothers day on the fourth Sunday of the month to honor and worship mother Mary. In Ancient Rome, the mother’s day was celebrated with pomp and show to worship the mother goddess Cybele. This event was carried for 3 days. In brief, the mother’s day has been celebrated to honor mother goddesses which over time has transformed into mothers day for our own mothers.

How is mother’s day celebrated?

Now, that you know the significance of mother’s day, the next step is to plan out the mother’s day activities so that your mother feels on the top of the world. Well, it’s awesome if you live with your mother but if you do not then you can make her feel happy by sending her mothers day cards and mothers day wishes and messages which are genuinely going to touch her heart.

So, where did it all start from? Any idea? Nope! Get it from here! The mother’s day was bought into effect by Anna Jarvis whose mother’s had presented a desire that someday all mothers should be honored and there should be a day exclusively reserved for them. Anna’s mother was a social activist. She was really angry about the ignorant and negative attitude people had towards their mothers during that time in the United States. After Anna’s mother died in the year 1905, she fulfilled her mother’s desire by writing letters to the people in the position so as to declare a day officially known as the mother’s day. She finally succeeded in her venture by the year 1911 and the then President Woodrow Wilson designated the second Sunday of May as mother’s day.

From then, the Mother’s day has been celebrated in every country with utmost pomp and show.

“ There are not enough angels to take care of everyone in the world and thus God created mothers.”

It is really really tough to count upon the things mothers actually do for their children. they are your first teachers, your counselors, your caretakers and what not. If you fall down some time and get hurt, they are probably the ones who will feel more pain looking at you. Believe me, they will be more hurt looking at you even more than you are. She has been in love with you from the moment she first saw you and since then she has been eternally in love with you and that is why you should respect her for whatever she has done for you all her life. Thus, people please never neglect her or ignore her. Try to love her as much as you can.
