World Turtle Day 2019 History
The World Turtle Day 2019 History dates back to the year 2000, when the American Tortoise Rescue launched the World Turtle Day to encourage the support of the survival of Turtles. The American Tortoise Rescue was established in the year 1990 by the founders Susan Tellem and Marshall Thompson. Since, it was launched the A.T.R, has about rescued and treated around 4,000 Tortoises.
The American Tortoise Rescue got its non-profit status in the year 1996 and moved to Malibu in the year 1997. The A.T.R believes that a lot of Turtles around the world are suffering or dying because of lack of information.
